Enter the Year of the Horse! Celebrate with us at the Burrell Collection as we welcome a new year in the Lunar calendar.

Included in the celebrations are a show-stopping lion dance performance, workshops and calligraphy, PLUS free face painting, crafts and talks.

The whole day is free and there is no need to book - spaces for some workshops are limited and these will be available on a first come first served basis (sign-up available at reception).

What's On:

11:30 am – General Tour – just turn up

11:45 am, 1.15 pm and 2.30 pm-  Secrets in the Store  Dr Yupin Chung, Curator of Far Eastern Civilisations, (limited spaces, sign up at reception)

12 noon –  Glasgow Hong Lok Dragon And Lion Dance Troupe performance in the courtyard

12:30 pm and 2 pm– Glasgow School of Oriental Dance performance in the courtyard

1pm – Storytelling with Ricefield Chinese Arts and Cultural Centre (limited spaces, sign up at reception)

1pm – Chinese Symbols Tour - just turn up

3:00 pm – Dance Workshop with Glasgow School of Oriental Dance (limited spaces, sign up at reception)

 -Year of the Horse Craft  with Ricefield Chinese Arts and Cultural Centre 

-Calligraphy with Ricefield Chinese Arts and Cultural Centre 

-Face Painting by Rainbow Twisters (Queue will close at 3.30 pm) 

-Zodiac Animal models with the Burrell Learning Team

-Natural Horseshoes with the  Countryside Rangers

-Object Handling with the Glasgow Museum Outreach Team
