Medieval Day!
Kings, Queens, Knights and Jesters, come ye along to the
Burrell and step into the Middle Ages!
We are back on Saturday 18 October from 11am-4pm for a Medieval family day bursting with early modern fun. Wander through the galleries and learn more about the Medieval objects in our collection, get stuck into crafts, face-painting, performances, tours and more!

Tour *
11:30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm – Battle At The Burrell: The Shrewsbury Smackdown. A family friendly excerpt from Shakespeare's Henry IV Part I Find King Henry IV on the 1st Floor by the swords or Archibald Douglas by the swords in the North Galleries and follow them into battle
11:45am – Talk: Medieval murder, maiming and mayhem! - Arms and armour in the Middle Ages – Ralph Moffat, Curator of Arms and Armour *
12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm – Secrets in the Store - Ed Johnson, Curator of Medieval and Renaissance Art (limited spaces, sign up at reception) *
2.30 – Medieval Burrell Tour *

Gaita Medieval Music- in the courtyard (Music and Dance Demos at 11:45am, 1pm and 2:15pm / Have a go at Dancing at 12:15 and 3:45pm)
