About The Coillte Quartet

Exploring new collaborations and invigorating classics, the Coillte Quartet is an ensemble made up of acclaimed recent graduates and final year students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Previous collaborations have allowed them to explore music from Latin America, traditional folk music from Denmark and premiere new works; whilst also performing beloved classics from Beethoven to Ravel around Glasgow. The quartet’s performance of Tedesco Guitar Quintet for string quartet and guitar was greeted with much acclaim and a recent recording of ‘Myopic’ a new composition for vibraphone and string quartet by Pablo Martinez has allowed the quartet to expand its voice. They have enjoyed masterclasses with the Brodsky Quartet, Goetz Richter, Joseph Swensen, Pedro de Alcantara and Victor Garcia.
