Creative Masterclass - French Impressionism
Join us for our next deep dive into the collection. This
time we are looking at our fabulous collection of French Impressionism where
you can find out all about Burrell’s collection of pastels and oils, the
history of French impressionism and how we care for these important works.
On day one you will hear from experts from Glasgow Museums, University of Glasgow and National Galleries of Scotland. On day two you can take part in a practical session with artist Sarah Wilson who will take you through the techniques used in French impressionism using oils and you will leave with your own painted canvas. You can book in to one day or both – it is up to you!
Day One
Friday 10th November 11 am – 4 pm

2 pm – 2.10 pm: return from lunch and refreshments
2.10 pm – 2.55pm: Hazel Neil and Suz Ross, Painting Conservators,

2.55 pm – 3.40 pm: Freya Spoor, Asst Curator, National
Galleries of Scotland
3.40 pm – 4 pm: Final Questions for speakers

Day Two
11 am – 4 pm Practical workshop on French Impressionist
techniques with artist Sarah Wilson (GSA). Refreshments will be provided and an
hour for lunch will be scheduled – lunch not provided. All materials will be
provided.
